BRIGHT FUTURE//FUTURE GESTURES

Gestures of anticipation glide across a retrofuturist scenography featuring a pastiche of brutalist and Bauhaus architecture, and other found imagery. Bright Future is the product of the artist’s choreographic research, surveying scientific-fictions inhabiting her body. These ritualistic scores are choreographed out of a body’s knee jerk preparation for a projected dystopia, cobbled together from myriad anticipatory anxieties and future narratives.

BRIGHT FUTURE was developed in the early months of 2020 alongside preparations for the FUTURE GESTURES workshops held at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in mid March.
